How Many Homebuilders Are There?
At the end of 2009, there were 26 traditional home building companies (pulled 5 or more permits for single-family, detached homes in 2009) in Southern Nevada, compared with 38 at the end of 2008, 47 at the end of 2007, and 77 at the end of 2006. The historic high was 179 homebuilders in 1996, and the number has decreased annually, with the exception of 2004, for a variety of reasons.
