The Southern Nevada Home Builders Association is proud to be the first affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders to coordinate the NAHB Research Center's National Housing Quality Trade Contractor Certification Program in the local area.
Through this innovative program, residential trade contractors in Southern Nevada can become certified in quality assurance methods designed for the real world of home building. All trade contractors, including framing, drywall, flooring, HVAC, electric, plumbing or any other trade involved in residential construction, are eligible.
The NAHB Research Center, in coordination with the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association, is bringing the benefits of quality initiatives in the manufacturing sector to the community's home building industry.
Participating trade contractors are already discovering that they're spending less time correcting errors and more time building homes.
Other Benefits:
Increase productivity
Train field personnel
Reduce or eliminate callbacks
Reduce exposure to litigation
Tighter schedules and reduced cycle time
Achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction
The Training:
The quality assurance training program is streamlined to minimize time away from the field. Training consists of a two-hour orientation and three half-day training sessions, scheduled during the same week, conducted by NAHB Research Center trainers.
The Certification:
After three months of operating the quality system developed during the training program, participating companies apply for certification by the NAHB Research Center. The company must pass a certification audit, and then be audited annually to maintain certification. The audit includes an examination of the company's systems, office and job-site inspection. Certified contractors can also take advantage of "Builder Direct," a marketing program offered by the NAHB Research Center.
